Hey! I am Lincoln Serwanga and I am 57 years old.
Born Christmas Day, my mum and I missed the prize-offer to the mother who would give birth first on the day! We came in slow finishers at about 3am. What I lacked in speed at birth, I believe I make up for in passion.
My driving passion in life is learning, and then hopefully taking what I have learnt and adapting it in every possible way to help me and anyone who would stop long enough to listen.
I love solving problems in life, love and leadership situations. In pursuit of this passion I will sit-up late into the night, reading or talking to a fellow learner. Many times, I have experienced an entire volume of understanding of a subject in one moment of inspiration.
Creativity and transformation are my other obsessions. How can knowledge be effectively used to re-imagine ourselves, our systems and our communities? To me, learning without innovation and change is a wasted experience. And the change begins with me!
When I am not learning, I am playing quite hard, either projecting myself into the hero in an action movie, or discreetly weeping at a moving tale. And those are my two extremes… I can be as hard as nails and as soft as a teddy!
Then there is the love of gadgets! If I can’t afford them, I will at least touch them or read about them, especially the cars!
But ultimately it is all about people. Helping someone else is my chief joy and my hope is that through the Equus programmes I am running, you will somehow be helped.
